Empower Oversight President Tristan Leavitt says the Office of Special Counsel, the federal whistleblower protection agency, has found that the IRS illegally retaliated against two of its agents that blew the whistle on political interference in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation. “This is a big deal for them to find that it was retaliatory,” he says. “There’s no reason they can point to for removing these guys that stands up under scrutiny. Along with the gag orders, this is a significant procedural step and highlights to the world that what the IRS did to these folks was wrong.”
