“This letter seeks information concerning the status of four Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) requests that Empower Oversight Whistleblowers & Research (“Empower Oversight”) filed with the Council of Inspectors General on Economy and Efficiency (“CIGIE”). CIGIE has long since exceeded the FOIA’s 20-business day deadline for responding to three of the requests and has unreasonably tolled its processing of the remaining request. Empower Oversight respectfully requests detailed information concerning: (a) CIGIE’s efforts to resolve the causes of its delayed responses, and (b) the dates when CIGIE will begin delivering records responsive to Empower Oversight’s requests.”
